Dear Foothill-De Anza College Community, 

 

After several months of dedicated service, Acting President David Wain Coon's last day at De Anza College will be August 31, 2026. Since stepping into this role, Acting President Coon has provided steady leadership during an important period for the De Anza College. On behalf of our Board of Trustees and the entire District, I extend my sincere gratitude for his commitment to De Anza College and the Foothill-De Anza community. 

 

In anticipation of Acting President Coon’s departure, I expect to announce an interim president ahead of the Board of Trustees meeting on August 10, 2026. The interim president will provide continuity of leadership while the District conducts a national search for De Anza College's next permanent president. The search process will be guided by our shared governance principles and will include opportunities for participation and input from faculty, classified professionals, administrators, students, and community partners. Additional information regarding the search timeline, committee composition, and opportunities for engagement will be shared as those details are finalized.
