Message from the Chancellor | Upcoming Districtwide Facilities Vision Plan
October 23, 2026

Please note: This email is being sent to all Foothill-De Anza Employees.

Dear Foothill-De Anza Community,
As we design the future of our District, I am pleased to share the launch of our 2027–2037 Districtwide Facilities Vision Plan, a yearlong effort to establish a shared vision for the future of Foothill College, De Anza College, and our District facilities. Led by Gensler in partnership with our Central Services Business Services and Facilities team, this process will help align our long-term facilities priorities with our educational mission and the evolving needs of our communities.

Looking toward the next decade, we must ensure our facilities keep pace with changing student needs, educational priorities, and the communities we serve. Beginning this work now gives us time to engage our campus communities, align facilities planning with each college’s strategic and educational plans, and develop a thoughtful roadmap for future investments.

The resulting Facilities Vision Plan will be a key resource for guiding long-term facilities decisions, including planning for a potential districtwide bond measure in 2030.

Our team is currently developing the roadmap for this process, with stakeholder engagement opportunities expected to begin in early 2027. Your perspectives will be essential as we envision welcoming, accessible, and inspiring learning environments that support student success, advance equity, and serve our communities for generations to come.

Learn more and follow the process on our Districtwide Facilities Vision Plan website. You can also share your thoughts at FacilitiesVisionPlan@fhda.edu.

Thank you for your continued commitment to our students and our shared mission. I look forward to shaping the future of our District together.

Sincerely,

Lee D. Lambert
